Bana Dessert is a dessert shop nestled on Gloucester Road in Bishopston, known for its focused selection of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean sweets that draw in locals looking for authentic flavors beyond the usual café fare. This spot caters to those who appreciate desserts with a cultural twist—think baklava, kunafa, and pistachio-laden pastries—alongside a handful of European-inspired cakes and specialty coffee options.

The atmosphere here leans toward cozy and unpretentious, with friendly service that often adds a personal touch, such as surprising guests with an extra scoop of ice cream or a warm gesture. It's a place where you can linger over a slice of caramel milk cake or Ferrero Rocher cheesecake paired with a frothy cappuccino or Turkish coffee, making it suitable for casual catch-ups or a quiet afternoon break.

Because of its varied menu, including several indulgent crepes, rich chocolates, and traditional sweets, Bana Dessert attracts a diverse crowd—from those after a quick, sweet caffeine fix to dessert enthusiasts keen on exploring authentic Arabian flavors in Bristol. The shop feels especially welcoming during daytime hours when the team is at their liveliest and the scent of fresh pastries fills the air.

Visitors can expect freshly made desserts that balance texture and sweetness thoughtfully, appealing to those who enjoy vivid, layered tastes rather than overly sweet confections. The setting may not be flashy but balances warmth and quality well enough to make it a favorite for locals who value genuineness and a considerate service approach.

I went to Bana Dessert with a friend and had the caramel milk cake along with the triple chocolate ice cream. The cake was absolutely delicious. I had never had it before, and I was blown away by the beautiful texture. It paired wonderfully with the rich, indulgent chocolate ice cream, creating a fusion of flavours that truly danced on my palate. The customer service was equally impressive. The two women behind the counter were very friendly and helpful when it came to choosing what to order. I also loved the interior design of the place. It had a lovely Arabic inspired feel that added to the overall atmosphere. A thoroughly enjoyable experience!

Had a baklava and Turkish tea, both amazing. The owner was very friendly and even added a free scoop of ice cream to my baklava. Staff were nice and friendly. Would definitely come back.

A Middle Eastern dessert venue well worth the visit. I took my parents for an evening out to get some sweet treats. The trip here did not disappoint. We had Milk Cake, Baklava, banana split ice cream and Turkish coffee. The milk cake had just the right level of sweetness although the portion size is advice sharing between two. The baklava tasted up market, none of that plasticky aged taste you get from the supermarket offerings. The banana split ice cream had a real bananarie punch. The Turkish coffee came with Turkish delight. The coffee itself didn’t have that bitter punch to the taste buds but instead a strong bitterness that built on the tongue. I would recommend for coffee lovers. The Turkish delight had been made with rose water but the rose flavour wasn’t too strong. I hate rose flavouring normally but this was just the right level to enjoy it. Would recommend following a light meal elsewhere.
